Jay, I try to be nice to just about everyone, I even have tremendous tolerances for your bullshit, which is why I rarely retaliate to any of it. The more  tantrums you throw, (and it is a lot ), the greater my entertainment is here.

your words not mine, I do not "live in fear" . I said Atlanta has a high crime rate, again, your denial of that fact is something beyond my control.

By you not telling me where you live leads me to believe you do not live anywhere near the city.
i live a lot closer than you if youre in the mountains, but my location is meaningless. where did i say atlanta has or doesnt have a high crime rate? and also did you read the part where i said i dont care whether or not people choose to carry? i just said i dont feel that i need to
and where did I say I felt unsafe? All I said was Atlanta is high on crime. That is a fact.

Act smart and 99.99% of the time you don't have problems.  There are (often publicized) events in which someone carrying a firearm is able to counter a criminal action, but for the average person, pulling a gun on the street is going to be a bad idea.

I'm completely pro gun ownership, but I do think the sense of safety one gets from carrying is more of a psychological placebo effect than anything.  To think that you will be better able to control unforseen events by virtue of possessing a firearm is naive and silly.   (Combat-trained individuals such as present and former police, military, etc. are a notable exception, but that still doesn't guarantee a thing).

I guess I just have giant brass balls like ig, since the neighborhood I live in scored a 0 out of 100 on that crime index (100 being safest).

**Home defense is a different story.  I wouldn't move in to a house without having a 12 gauge there.**

Lowing doesn't, but Jesse Jackson does.

"There is nothing more painful to me ... than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery, then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved."

your son is lucky, how old is he?

anyway i don't conceal carry because 1. not old enough 2. pretty sure it's hard to get your permit in california 3. wouldn't feel the need personally unless i was in a bad area, but i'm still fine with home protection and keeping guns.

if i did i would probably choose a small .38 special or something. glock 19 or 30.

He is 13. He owns that M9, an AK47 variant, and a ruger 10/22 rifle. My other boy ( he is 14) owns an M4 rifle, ruger 10/22, A Mosan Nangant, and  Remington 870 Tactical Express shot gun. We love going to the range, great quality time with the kids along with RC airplanes,  football, and band.

haha man that is sweet, my opa bought my dad a mossberg 500 when he built his house but i think that's it as far as passing down guns and stuff.

you're into RC planes though aye?

have you heard of dynamic soaring? i don't know much about it but my brother is into it and it started around my area, basically no engines and the planes can reach speeds of almost 500mph, crazy stuff man.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_soaring

started in the 90's mostly by a local aeronautical engineer for lockheed in the area. figured ya might like that.

Mossberg is great shotgun as well. Was a toss up really between the 2.

Yeah we are relatively new to RC planes, doing pretty good, crashed a few times and that does get expensive. Pissing off my wife

Heard about dynamic soaring, but I am having enough problems staying out of the trees going slow

You are correct, you can not stop ALL criminal action just because you carry, there are some that have and some that haven't. I do not know that I could, depending on the circumstance but what I do know is, without protection I have zero chance of stopping a criminal action against me, say a car jacking, and with my gun I have a chance to protect myself. I will take the chance over a zero chance. Also, as I posted previously, I am a very unassuming person, you do not know that I am carrying and will not expect it when you find out. Kinda why they call it concealed carry.
