PSN Pass

" "This is an important initiative as it allows us to accelerate our commitment to enhancing premium online services across our first party game portfolio."

If you don't have a code to input, say if you purchase the game used, you'll have to buy one through the Store. It's unclear how much one of these PSN Pass codes will cost, however. "

This isn't new and not only a Playstation issue. Game companies want you to buy their game NEW, not used, not rented, not borrowed. There are games that restrict online access unless you have the code. The code is usually $10.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010) and Homefront are two I can think of right now. They both let you play online, but NFS only lets you play for a certain amount of time. Homefront stops your unlocks and ranks pretty early on. You can continue to play, you just cant progress.

Meh, I don't buy used games anyway. On top of that, I hardly play PS3 online much. /PC master race

Do you think that could be the start of the downfall of Gamestop?

Majority of Gamestops income comes from used games and if PSN starts putting a required code on all new games, the sale of used games will come to a crawl

If it's only limited to online services then fair play. If they extend it to other parts of the game then that's too much.
