I'm using the Sony Media box. It does virtually everything the roku box does for about $75 (I've seen them as low as $60). It also plays my own video/music files and has worked with every single format I have thrown at it. I either plug my wd passport into the usb on the front, or stream it via dlna server from my PC. The built in wifi has an excellent signal, picture is great coming from Netflix and HULU plus.SEREMAKER wrote:
I use DirecTV, HD box in the living room and had a standard box in the bedroom. Hooked up a Roku XD in the bedroom with a HD antenna for the local channels.
I'm considering doing the same set up in the living room and dropping DirecTV.

Ehh, I only torrent the shit I can't actually watch online, like Mythbusters, How I Met Your Mother, Breaking Bad, House etc. Cause that stuff gets to the UK really really late compared to when it first airs. I watch Top Gear on BBC iPlayer, Shameless on E4OD, and sometimes I watch TV Catchup.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

almost entirely online via free (official/legal) streaming. tv licenses over here are too costly and tv takes up too much time i could be using to study/read.
