By looking at my stats, it shows that i have 3500 global points but yet i am still a lance corporal.

Yeah, you are not the only one, Thinner44 has the some problem.
Weird, it does happen that EA is a little slow in updating, but this something else. Guess you'll have to sit it out.

And about the updating, my Lance Corporal rank hasnt changed in +/- 2 months so it don't think thats the prob ))
A bit of patience should be all that's required. The stats take a little while to update with everything so go play some more and you should find that after a couple of kills you get your promotion. I'm pretty sure this has been covered in detail somewhere.
