Quoted for truth. I used to make this mistake, but lately I just wait for the next missile. Sometimes the pilot doesn't know I'm waiting for the next missile and he gets impatient "Why aren't you shooting?".
If he does that I just start blasting away with the gun and blame him if we get killed.

Last night I was on one of my fav UK servers it was kinda empty and quite a few new guys to the game I was the highest rank there, I see the chopper going off, then crash...this happend about 3 or 4 times, I then quee up for it and get the gunner seat, I tell the pilot to go to the left and Ill take out the tanks with the TV so our boats can land. So tanks gone, our guys land cap a flag, I then spot a chopper and what does he do nothing I was screaming "ENEMY CHOPPER INBOUND" "HOSTEL CHOPPER SPOTTED" then I got blocked for 30secs.....so we got killed...Did u not hear me saying enemy chopper ??? to which he replied no so I said fair enuff, I then said look at my name, we are in a squad so anything green means its trouble for us...if I spot something look a the mini map then line us up, so we get that issue out of the way. Me gunning again, he gets the idea and we last a good bit longer.

I then get the chopper pilot seat, asked him  can he use the TV, he says kinda... to me this mean I fire it straight on, so flying around he is getting loads of kills I only fire my misslies to tell him where the enmey are, then our commander is screaming that there are guys capping the PLZ airfeild flag so off we go to it, they manage to turn it but our guys are there... we are down to 4bars health Ive bugger all missles, I fly off over and as I was a J10 spwans, and wouldnt ya know it he bails out to get the J10, this guy is now in second place and he wants to fly a bloodt J10 so I kick him from the squad and with that hes flying around look at me mmuuhaa I got the j10 on my way back to repair I see he just racked up 7tks, seems he dropped hes bombs on the PLZ flag that we were capping he got kick for minus score...oh well

Im never going to trust any gunners from now on, only my clan mates who I am talking to over TS/VOIP or a few guys that I know are good, Ill give everyone a chance, Im more than willing to help anyone learn, I know Im not the best but with over 100hrs in a chopper I know a thing or two.

I guess Im just pissed off at my help been fucked back in my face over a bloody plane.

What I tend to do is hide the chopper behind a hill pop up let the guy TV the other chopper/tank/APC what every, most of the time I use the TV over the gun. When Im gunning and we are over a map with a UAV zoom in so u can gun em down !

ALSO LOOK AT YOUR GOD DAM MINI MAP WHEN I SPOT SOMETHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! rant over

choppers, both flying and gunning, are the most fun BF2 has to offer.   It's a blast doing either one, though less stressful as a gunner because you're not always having to dodge AAM's, just scan the area for targets and let em have it. 

I would really like to have a solid chopper partner for when I play... every now and then I'll team up with some random guy on a random server who knows what he's doing in one or the other position and I'll be the foil to him and we rack up kills like it's nodbody's business.  Then the other times, it's someone who thinks they're Evel Kenevel and tries to skim the ground in urban areas, or the gunner that only knows that the machine gun exists.

My biggest pet peeve with the choppers though is that it's really hard to tell when you're being attacked by .50cal guns.  There are plenty of times where there's no damage indicator (the red ")" ), just all of the sudden your alarm bells are ringing and you have about 1/2 sec to eject (UNless you want to spawn on your chopper again of course, in which case, you go down with the ship like any good captain!)

Same, and hitting a chopper with the tv rocket when ur alone is much easier, at least, I find that.

I try using the TVs but i cant hit a thing. Is it just me or is it impossible to make them turn and go up n down coz if not sum1 please tell me...

I vote for a Pilot/Gunner School that you have to attend before you can even enter a Heli.
Right now you must be really REALLY lucky to get a good one. Unless you know him/her of course.
Countless deaths could have been avoided...

i shoot tanks,choppers,cars with tv missle, but i dont have to wait for the reload because i never miss
