Just gives mods more of a reason to delete anything that's not a current event.

The site is too dead for everything to be consolidated into a single thread for most off-topic chat, which is the whole fucking point of this sub-forum in the first place. Otherwise you might as well just remake EE and only have a single monthly chat thread open at a time for everybody to clog up talking about fucking everything in a mish-mash of conversations. That's why you make individual threads for a topic, not one thread for everybody to talk about things that a handful of people(mods) found unfit to have their own topic about. Seriously, what kind of fucked up logic is that?
