it boots up fine when the external isnt plugged in, but when it is, the ssds dont show up in my bios

1. what interface do you plug your external drive in? usb? e-sata?
2. update BIOS.

go to your motherboard manufacturer's site, search for downloads for your particular mb, download the updated bios, read the instructions, update.

prob wont be in your bios under your drives. If you want to boot form it, go to wherever you define boot devices, usually lots of different stuff there.

asus is notorious for this kinda fuckups. select another download location (china?) maybe they put the correct bios there.

dont plug in the external until you've loaded the OS, problem solved.

ok i fixed it. i went to hard disk drives under the boot menu and disabled the external. it was set to first priority over the raid. thx for the help gents
