That was off the coast of San Diego if I remember correctly. It was full of Recon Marines practicing shipboard assaults. All of the Marines died. It's not f'ing funny.No 1 Gooner wrote:

There was a CH-46 in 1996 or 1997 off the coast of San Diego where all on board were lost. Sorry it wasn't this particular one. The only reason I remember is because I was a Corpsman at the time stationed at MCRD. One of my co-workers was/is a Recon Medic and one of the crew lost was a Recon Medic.

that was a CH-46E it was only used up untill 1989, that happened before the first gulf war

well think about the essex and how big it would be if done to scale... it would be... well kinda big... and i doubt you wanna wander around on the essex for a long time just to get around. plus it's a lot more ground to cover when you're lookin' for them spawn campers
