Oxegen '11

Id rather hammer rusty nails through my balls tbh. Must be my age. Oxegen is scum bags from top to bottom. Played at it 3 years ago and it was hell, even with a VIP pass. Couldnt wait to escape. I remember driving outa there on the Saturday night with a fight going on on one side and groups of corpses huddled around fires made from plastic cups on the other.
The only saving grace is the lineup is always excellent. Much better festivals in Ireland. Especially the underground ones. I was at No Place like Dome in sligo a few weeks ago which was excellent.

True that. Everyone I know that went knew what they were getting into. Going to Oxegen is the ultimate escape. All normal human behavior/ethics goes out the window. Almost like a country with no laws.

There is plenty of decent people around too, you just need to have a good aul look for em'. Blue camp seems to be better than red. I was in a few fights this year, with Mr. Captain Morgan haha. You'll never win a fight against the Captain, especially 3 liters of him!

Am I the only one that doesn't 'get' the appeal of festivals? You're constantly in a foot of mud, drinking warm cider and living in a tent for a weekend, and then being charged a fortune for the privilege of it. Sounds awful.

i enjoyed reading when i was 17 but even then felt like everyone was there about 3 years younger than me, just finishing their GCSE's, and incredibly fucking annoying. not to mention the line-ups at festivals are just commercial puke now-- less about the artistic showcase and festival itself, and more about getting the biggest chart-names to make the most ticket sales. for shame.

That's what it's all about man! The banter, the craic! And they're quiet good value to be honest. 200 euro for a weekend of free toilets/showers/camping facilities/banter/hundreds of acts and performances seems like pretty good value to me!
