Hi all,
it seems requirements on UBAR are not correct as it's written:

IAR: 5 kills with a Pistol

while it must be

IAR: 7 kills with a Pistol

I've got the basic badge after 7 kills togheter with the advanced one ...

cheers

It's 5 now after the patch.

I confirmed it while playing yesterday I got it in a normal sniper round when I had to defend myself with pistol.

Crazy ... I've received it just a minute before the veteran but sure after 7 kills, not 5. I still do not understand some parts of that patch

They changed it to 5 so that you wouldn't receive both badges at the same time had you already had/have 50 pistol kills and then getting 7 ( = basic/expert) which would cause the bug mentioned in the "Can't get to First Sergeant" thread.

Still think they should lower the knife kills needed to 5.

If anything they should of left the pistol badge at 7 and the knife at 5, which is what i keep geting every time i go for the knife badge. 5, 5, 5, everytime i get five! That sucks.

Pistol badge is very easy to get in my opinion, it just depends on what pistol you use.

or what kit; many people wing the sorry bastard with the m95 and take them down with the pistol; very effective even at long ranges.

I got it with Spec. Ops. on Sharqi.  The silenced pistol makes it very easy.  I just laid in the grass and picked people off.  They didn't know where they were being shot from!

BTW, this is my first post.  I've been checking my stats and reading the forums for a while, but finally registered today.  Love the site!  Keep up the good work Chuy!

You guys have will power. I had to play with the anti-tank/engineer kits (no upgrade DAO or Jackhammer) to get it. With the other kits, I found that I kept getting tired of trying to kill people with the pistol and kept switching to my primary.

As for the making the easy badges easier and hard stay the same, I agree. I just got my basic explosives yesterday... what a bitch, but I got it with about 10 tickets left in the round. I had -20 team points by the end of the round. I have no idea how in the hell I will get my veteran explosives let alone the expert.

A sane (IMHO) video game designer would have removed all the hour requirements and just given skill-based requirements. Assault combat badge? 50 kills for basic, 250-500'ish kills for veteran, 2000+ for expert. First Aid badge? 20 heals for basic, 150'ish for veteran, 1000'ish for expert. This is TOTAL, not in a single round (of course). This way, the hardcore players can spend all the time they want working towards badges, and the average player can just PLAY the game, and will get badges over time.

In my mind, this would lower the inclination for someone to just dedicate round after round, or whole days, playing in one stupid manner to get a certain badge. Wouldn't it be nice if you could get veteran knife, just by reaching 75-100 kills *overall*? Play normally, knife a sniper here and there, and suddenly "You have been recommend for an award!". No need to dedicate a round to knifing, you'll just gain them as you play.

This would be especially good for explosives badge, because it'd lower the amount of suicide bombers... It wouldn't remove them, but there'd be less desire to get 13, 23 or (gasp) 40+ explosives kills in a round.

Look at the new commander badge, in my mind it is what it should be. 1000 commander points to get the vet badge. Now *that* makes sense. You've proven you can command, you've gotten a fair amount of points... but if you lose alot, you'll still make it there eventually. If you win alot, you'll make it there quicker. (remove the stupid 25 minutes in a round requirement though).

All the combat badges should be based on total kills, the support badges on support points, etc... Driver points for transport badge. You get the idea.

I agree to a certain extent, but to instead of simply the number of, say, kills... I reckon adding another requirement such as accuracy, or k/d ratio to it.  Just to make it interesting, otherwise it'll just be simply racking up kills instead of time.

As hard as the knife, explosives, can get... I think having the amount of kills in one round is a good indication of skill with the weapon.  The 100hours for expert is crazy though... because I can easily get 30+ kills with the G3 in one round, and that is when I mix kits, use other weapons... so I feel I've the skill, however 100 hours is a lot of time of my life I don't really want to waste just to get a medal in a computer game.

But that's just my opinion.
