Invictus - 8/10
Well made film, evocative of the era, I was vastly entertained by how poorly our current politicians compare with Mandela.

The Town 6/10
I don't believe ben aflek as a bank robber but he has a nice sultry voice with a mask on. , lame lol
now the guy who plays his bff in the movie - he does it right.. he should be the lead. {he's in hurt locker too}

Get Low - 7.5/10

Dunno if Robert Duvall got an Oscar nomination for his role here but he certainly deserved it. Bill Murray was top notch too. Story dragged on a little bit, but the ending and the meaning behind it were worth it. Not the most entertaining of movies but it has a strong message behind it that was worth seeing.

Never heard of it, but I'm a big fan of both of them. What's it about?

I'll make this as official as possible:

Felix Bush (Duvall) is an infamous hermit living far off into the woods with many acres of land to his name. After years of being harassed by local youths and 40 years of being reclusive, he goes into town asking the owner of a funeral parlor (Bill Murray) to hold a funeral party for him where people tell of the stories they've heard of him while he's still alive.

It's very well told and as I said, the message alone makes it worth seeing. If you're a Duvall fan, you'll love it.

Red Riding Hood 7/10

Interesting take on the classic story. Throwing in elements of mystery/whodunit with M. Night Shyamalan (sp?)-esque directing and storytelling.

Plus Red is smokin' hot.

Captain America - 7/10

Solid, and a lot better than the mess that was Thor. This felt like less of a setup movie and more of a standalone. Plus Hugo Weaving is fucking badass. Loved how they used all the concept weapons the Nazis had planned from WW2 like their attempt at the flying wing (HO 229) and the fixed rotor-esque device that Red Skull uses. A decent action film filled with jingoism that sets up the "ultimate" movie in a way that allows it to be its own story as well. I'll take it.
The Informers - 2/10  80's hollywood stardom and money downfalls with billy bob thornton and kim basinger.  One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Sad, depressing, no hope. +2 for the winona ryder cute hairdo.

Looks like they pushed it back to next year... Also looks like it doesn't follow the first one... ? I dunno.

5/10 - Don't feel like it was a total waste of time, but it was predictable and left lots of huge plot holes and loose ends, but acted like it was all wrapped up. I was disappointed, cause it had a lot of potential...

Now that you've expanded on it, I remember seeing some of the press on it. Will have to check it out.

As said already, pretty solid.

I liked the "Our chemically manufactured Aryan Superman is better than their chemically manufactured Aryan Superman" motif.
Also, killing people with shields - a neat take on the 'defence industry'?

Super

A 'superhero' version of Sweeny Todd, pretty much. If you want big names, there's Kevin Bacon and Liv Tyler.

The Romans and Greeks both used their shields as offensive weapons to great effect.

??/10 - I just don't know. I enjoyed the visuals. I enjoyed the fight scenes. The story was super weird, and yet predictable. Honestly, it was more like watching a bunch of long, really awesome music videos... Does that make it a really awesome movie? Not really... But... Wow. I don't know.

Knowing 8/10

I know some people panned it, but there was a lot of shit in there that gets one to thinking. The whole Ezekiel bit, particularly. It was a fairly innocuous part of the film, but to me, tied everything (and I do mean EVERYTHING) together.
