Actually, it would be a lot faster than I first thought. It wouldn't be as fast as something doing mach 20 at ground level, but it would still be going like a stabbed rat

That's the dilemna we have when going from LA to Vegas. Do we take a flight (really short actual fly time) and deal with the wait at the airport, picking up a car or hotel shuttle, and the return back. Or the 4 hour drive one way.
