Captain America. Wasn't bad. I was impressed how they dealt with the jingoistic aspect of the character, avoiding the problem of making an American-centric film feel too American to appeal to an international audience. The digitally warped Chris Evans was weird though as his face and voice didn't fit his body.

So I guess we'll see how The Avengers turns out. A shame Ed Norton isn't playing Bruce Banner.

Fairly good movie, but about 3/4 of the way in when the plot reveals it's self to a blatant rip off of another (better) movie you kind of lose a bit of interest. Up until this point it keeps you guessing and is pretty well acted and written but the plot reveal should have been far more subtle and it also brings into question a lot of the actions of the "bad guys" through out the film made, as they were overly elaborate and pretty pointless given the circumstances.

The Lincoln Lawyer - 8
Well written good story about a murder case, attorney-client confidentiality and a conflicting moral conscience v legal responsibility. Acting was good and pacing didn't make any of the 2 hours feel slow or unnecessary. Overall a very good film, would recommend it to anyone.

V for Vendetta - 10/10

Can't think of a possible flaw, just a wonder piece of art and film making. After all these years I still managed to go into the film knowing absolutely nothing about it, apart from the fact that the lead character was a man in goofy looking mask, perhaps my reason for avoiding it for so long. Blew me away, just one of those where afterwards you say "This is why I love film". Hugo Weaving pulls of the voice so well, for so much character to shine through when all you see is a mask is testament to that.

Coincidentally I also watched Garden State last night (7/10 for that one btw) and the two films have some similar messages and themes in there, but obviously convey them in completely different ways.

Yeah it was a Natalie Portman weekend.

I have never been a fan of GL, didn't read any of the comics, I stayed off wiki because I wanted to go into the movie with no knowledge of the character.

Half way through I'm looking at my watch wondering if this movie is ever going to end. When this movie left the editing room did they actually watch the final product to see if it makes sense.
