On 4chan, if you type a ">" before a sentence, it makes the following line come up green. It's usually used to either quote a previous poster, or tell a story in a series of lines (see fig 1.0)

It has since become a trending meme to display disapproval at someone doing something by posting what it is they are doing, then posting "ISHYGDDT" (I seriously hope you guys don't do this) afterwards (see Fig 1.1).

Often the person who posts this will also post a picture of a person displaying a look of shock, or disapproval, to emphasise their point.
