Overcast days are nice because they diffuse the light.. it's like a natural light box. That isn't to say that your picture might not look better taken during the golden hour.
I cant help but think your posted photo would look better at dawn or dusk. Not for lighting but for tone.. ie goldenRAIMIUS wrote:

My point was that the "golden rule" of landscape photography should have some exceptions. It is not an absolute.
