I guess that can get rid of most of the idling but it will probably still be there. Makes some requirements easier(I can FINALLY get basic explosives)
Everything sounds cool except the explosive badge, I want to earn the basic and feel good, now the basic will feel uneventful, that is if these changes happen.

Does this mean I will lose my expert healing badge? Got only 60 hours of medic, and it was pretty hard to get it...
I'd like it if they lowered the time requirements for the classes from 100 hours to like 50 hours... That's so pointless to play with a class you don't like if you just want to get the expert badge for it.
But I am sure that, IF this is for real, it is a marketing trick to let people get interested in BF2142 and let them leave BF2 alone, man that's bad because I will never ever buy BF2142 that just doesn't interest me, I hate this...

I find the time requirements for ground and air defense pretty awkward though, makes no sence to me that you only need the in a round kills to get those, that pretty much means every player can get these, and if you can get those kills with commander artillery (I guess you can, since if you are behind ground defense, your arti kills are counted on your stats as ground defense kills, check my stats if you like, those are made that way to actually only gain hours with ground defense) it won't be any hard for anyone at all.

I think it's sorta dumb to just remove the IAR requirements completely. Maybe lower it, but not by much, and certainly don't remove it. I think 1.3 is going to nerf the people, no longer just the guns.
Again these are all changes from a beta version of the 1.3 patch, a few revisions to it may have been done. As far as the IAR requirements for some of the badges like the knife badge I can understand why they would get rid of it... to defeat the purpose of a pistol and knife server.
It seems to me that no matter what EA does, people will still bitch. I, for one, do not care what changes they make. As long as I have fun with my squad while kicking some ass, everything else will take care of itself. People seem to take this game really seriously. So they lowered the reqs on some medals and badges. So what? I like the stats that I have achieved so far. I am pretty close to the WCR. If they change it before I get it, then I will just have to suck it up and move on. I really don't understand all this bitching. I really don't. At least EA is still pumping out patches for this game. Be thankful for that.

Most of these changes are fairly reasonable, at least I think so. It'll be way easier to get most of the awards now.

As a ground pounder I've put alot of time into this game not because I'm after glory or medals but becuase the game is FUN!!!!!!! Any glory I recieve is a BONUS to me as far as I am concerned.I love this game for the strategy and the tactics.Alot of guys I see are single-minded only worried about points.SO be it...it's thier perogative.But I get alot of satisfaction in doing my job......Kill anything that moves on 4 wheels or 8 wheels or treads.And making my squad a better one....and WINNING the ROUND!!!!!

Thats business. When one got all of 'his possible medals' he/she lost a target and stop playing. Maybe even change to a different game from a different vendor (panic !). So, set all the goodies far away and give the dogs (sorry, the players) all in short, small and expensive packs.

as far as the WCR as I stated the award was originally intended as an award for commanders. But it largely seems dependent on your sucess as a soldier and a team player with the 3.1 w/l ratio. Impossible imo to get that award commanding only as the battle can go either way. I would have a total of 2000 wins I would have to get with no losses to get a 3.1 w/l ratio.
Most people dont even have more than 10k in commander points that have the WCR the only people who have remotely over 10k over commander points are the person hoping for x2's after every round and actually getting a lot of them, or the people who did a great job of commanding and team playing while working towards distinguished service.
If anyone has more than one distinguished service medal they're definately a great team player because 200 hours of commanding is quite boring imo.
At least I know if I do play that much commander, I can go those last 25 hours and get a 2nd DSM
