When I installed my new videocard (Radeon 9800 PRO 128 mb) instead of my gay Gforce mx 440 which couldnt even run bf2, I also added 512 mb memory so ive got a total of 1024 now.

My problem is since I installed the new card and memory, bf2 sometimes just shows me a hippy screen with all kind of strange colors, then I get a black screen, I can hear everything in bf2, can say yes and no, I just got a black screen, when I open the console and type quit

It just quits to the desktop and sets my resolution to 800×600, and then all my computer reacts very slowly, it refreshes the screen very slow.

Only a complete system restart fixes it all, I had the same problem with Ghost recon advanced warfighter. But in bf2 I have it sometimes after 30 minutes, in ghost recon I had it after about 5 min playing

Anyone has a solution for this? Im getting desperate :x

Search for omega drivers? Seemed to have improved my graphics in game. Do you have all your settings to low for testing?

Any error messages bro? Also if it's redion graphics card, you will need2 sort out settings before running bf2. I honestly can't check now, soon as I get home I will take a look at it for you and give you solution for it.
Hope this will fix your problem.

Peace Boris

set resolustion to 60 Hz instead of 75 Hz , in case your monitor settings have a refresh rate of 60 Hz.
In other words , synchronize refresh rate; hope that helps.

Also check http://www.tweakguides.com/BF2_2.html

You bought a new GPU, how much power does it need?

How much power can your PSU supply?

Have you run the game in windows mode? ( it will not give you error message unless you are in windows mode )

Let me know what the error message is when it crashes in windows mode.

If you don't know how to run it in windows mode, let me know and will post up instructions.

Peace Boris
