Has anyone here had it done? How much did it cost? (I know it varies on prescription) How did the procedure go? What was the recovery time like? I think i'll call tomorrow and talk about it to various Dr's in the Atlanta area. I want it so bad.
Don't let anyone go near your eyes with anything pointy or laser-like
i was this close in getting it done. But a mate who is an optician warned against it...."its a healthy eye, just leave it alone"
so i did.
so i did.

If you're self concious about wearing glasses, wear contact lenses. The soft contacts are really good and you can buy a pair that last a whole year so long as you place them in cleaning solution each night. Soft contact lenses are more pliable and easier to wear than hard lenses because they're made of a soft, gel-like plastic.

soft contacts are like 95% water or there abouts.

wear glasses for the rest of your life or go under a laser for seconds. i say go 4 it

Military doesn't allow contacts in the field. Plus im weird about touching my eyes. Glasses can get expensive and I always get them scratched.
what's wrong with wearing glasses?Kimmmmmmmmmmmm wrote:

i would rather wear glasses for life than get some sort of surgery on my eye.
@nexus, get some wayfarers with prescription lenses bro, then you can have a legit reason for being hip.

I've been using glasses since before I was 6 years old.. don't really have many problems tbh...

"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
the whole process is really disturbing but apparently it's relatively painless
they use a laser/tools to actually remove the outer flap of your eye and then do all the cool laser shit once that's off
and now, a video!
i usually cringe at any movie scene where somebody gets their eye fucked up, but even i thought it was cool

Anyway, isn't there something about that "flap" they cut never healing up entirely and can potentially be knocked off in e.g. car collisions?

It apparently heals faster than when the laser burns away the whole lens.
Haffey didn't you used to work in an eye surgery?
