did it about 7 years ago at $5000

the best money spent

its strange when you're laying there with your eye lid pryed open and when they slice your corona, its like a page turning ... first you can see then you're blind .... then you hear the machine clicking ...... less then 30 secs they sit you up and ask you to read the clock about 20 feet away

to get ready for the surgery you'll have to wear your glasses for 2 weeks prior of the surgery and if you're like me I wore contacts for 10 years before getting the surgery so wearing glasses for two weeks was something I forgot how it felt

get the surgery

then have someone drive you home and get a good nite sleep and everything should be fine in the morning

I am not kidding when I say it is the BEST money spent

wtf? they were using lasers in the PHILIPPINES at least 5 years ago
back in the day they used microkeratomes, meaning 'small cornea knives.' now they use lasers to cut the flap.

Why isn't the military doing it for you? Usually they're all over it, due to readiness issues.

Look into what job you might end up doing before, some won't let you do it if you have lasered eyes, but they will if you wear contacts.

My grandma did it at age 93, three years before she died and everything went fine.

My wife's grandma got lasered during a glaucoma surgery recently and she had bleedings in both eyes with detachment of the retina.
She's now getting infusions every few weeks (yes, syringe injections into the eyeball!), but still can't see properly.
E.g. she can't read anything below about 36 point font size.
The infusions can just delay total blindness. (Well, the glaucoma would have caused that at some point either way.)

I've always imagined my eye spasing out or watering uncontrollably when they hold it open. I know the put cotton balls at the side to abosrob it, but still.

I've had that done once.

To say it sucked is the epitome of understatement.

I have that done every eye exam (checks the pressure of your eye). Don't even notice it anymore.

lol I watched the whole scene, I don't know what's more ridiculous: an eye surgery laser that can cut through your hand, an eye surgery laser that can even go over 5mW, or exterior glass that shatters like that when someone trips into it:
