You lucky guys with lens problems, I have a freaking retina problem. Still waiting for retinal transplants, gaaaaah. I want good eyesight. Can't get past 20/35 now with glasses/contacts.
I'd say go for it. I know many people who've done it and they all love it. The risks are so slim, I'd rather chance lasik than wear freaking lenses my entire life.

Another good reason for glasses - The UV cut in most plastic lensed glasses means ageing of the eye, ie cataract development, is drastically reduced.
