No idea, but it's pretty widespread. I was watching the World Cup on some Spanish channel cause it was only on ESPN and was quite amused when this phenomenon actually happened.

Nope, at least not French, I doubt Romanians even have commentary, and Catalans just speak Spanish I guess?
