I had a very strange experience on 'Daqing Oilfields' today. I was playing as chinese and were fleeing from one of the flags as it was getting a bit too hot I grab a jeep and wait a short while for passengers; I get two in the jeep-one teammate and one US soldier. I have never seen this before and at first I thought it was the bug where some teammembers show up as enemies. But shortly after, the jeep was hit by a US plane and my unfriendly passenger was teamkilled.

I mean, it's not like I didn't wan't the give the guy a ride, I just find it a bit strange

Anyone seen this before?

LOL, that can happen in Halo 2, but I've never seen it in BF2 lololol

It was a teammate with a red tag. I have had that before in a chopper and when we were killed the guy was also TKed. After that i accidetally killed him because his tag appeared red and i didn't see that he had a MEC outfit.
It said i killed him but he could punish me (very weird) it was like Kamikaza [G36C] 'guy with red tag'

well, the name tag glitch has only been seen in BF2 so far. And if you see name tags over the heads of people in the cue at K-Mart, your medication is way too strong...

The funny thing is you cant attack you own passengers when you are in a vehicle... Really absurd if a bug like that happened

That depends. you could be sitting in the third position of a hummvee and use the nade launcher, or the c4. That is, if you're willing to sacrifice yourself and your teammates.

Must be the oh-so-famous glitch where your teammates turn up red.

Another thing that I hate is when I'm gunning from the gunner spot and there's no one else in the car, then all of a sudden someone hops in and starts driving. I wanna TK them and say "DON'T F***ING TAKE MY CAR WHILE I'M SHOOTING, MORON"

I hate this bug whe you teammates nametags turn red. Last night i was playing Wake (for the 19876th time) and i see this guy with a red nametag 100ft away i snipe him and it says: McCullough [M95] XXxxXX. yay thought i got him, but then the "you have been punished for at Teamkill" messege pop up, i was like huh???
Later i see another read nametag and this guy were a medic throwing medpacks on the ground shouting "First Aid here" (I were China) so i killed him and the chatbar says: McCullough [M95] XXxxXX, then i got punished for a TK again!
What the hell is going on here??

You know what? Today I WAS the unwanted passenger... somehow... my squad and I got into a vehicle with a guy and nobody appeared to have noticed that he had a red name over his head. He went with us to our destination in Karkand and then when I got out of the vehicle, and after a very long pause during which we kind of stared at each other, he killed me. Weird.

Haha...well, there you go. That's just hilarious! I wish my story had a cool ending like that

I do not think this is a case of 'red-tag bug' between friendlies. It is somehow possibly to pick up an enemy passenger or hitch a ride with one. Although rare, it seems to happen. KtotheIMMY, he didn't teamkill you, did he?

Happened to me twice i think, very confusing as thought it was the usual bug. When we got out though he killed me, no forgive option=real enemy!

My theory is that it happens when ya both press "E" to enter the vehicle at the same time

I fired a couple half-hearted shots off at him because I wasn't sure if he was a miscolored friendly or not. I didn't want to do team damage or anything... but I figured out that he really was an enemy when he killed me without a TK
