I as on a Wake server yesterday and had two scenarios which were extremely frustrating. In both instances we were attacking the US spawn island.
1. Squad leader (me) dies. Our squad member in the jet becomes squad leader and if you've ever flown a jet, you would rather not be cycling squad leaders. What made this worse was the the squad leader role was cycling just between the two of us (me = dead, other squad guy = flying plane) while the other four guys are trying to hold down the island. Additionally, in the current environment, being in a squad and flying don't work well together. I like having air support in the squad but if your pounding the ground it puts added pressure on the airborne guys to be focusing on cycling the squad leader.
2. You get a guy in your squad that isn't actually playing with the team, just joining for a spawn point. He cycles into squad leader and then doesn't give it up. End result, 4 guys on US island, squad leader at driving around in a jeep, and one guy (two, then three) trying to get back on the island to help support the team. Needless to say, the entire team ended up dying while our fearless leader was driving around, not rolling the squad leader and not talking to anyone either.
It would be easier if we could just choose which squad member we could spawn on. The squad leader would still retain all other privileges (call artillery, speak to commander...)
