Not to mention change over to metric.

I'd be fine with changes to metric for most things with the exception of the following:
speed limits/highway distances - no fucking idea what a kilometer "feels" like while driving
monitor/TV sizes
weighing anything above 10 lbs

I certainly embrace it for volume measurements because I've still never learned the Imperial volume units. I know 4 qts=1 gal, but that's it.

Australians and brits shouldn't call others out on these things while they still use Imperial and drive on the wrong side of the road

It's easy as. Everything goes up to 10, then goes up to 100, then up to 1,000 etc.

I found my time in the US cool but weird. Like a 3/4 mile, on a highway, basically 1.2km.

And weird fractions like 11/16 of an inch, wtf??

Metric units would certainly make my job as engineer easier. No more fucking conversions to deal with. In my experience, it's the workers in the field that are the most resistant to change. They know what 11/16 of an inch looks like and are comfortable with it. Talk about millimeters and they glare at you like you're a stuck up asshole

We ought to keep fahrenheit though. Scientists use kelvin anyway.

0F is pretty damn cold and about as cold as it gets in most parts of the US. 100F is pretty damn hot and about as hot as it gets in most parts of the US. 50F sounds and indeed feels good. Whereas 10C might feel good but it certainly sounds cold.

I think temps can stay as they are, though celcius makes more sense from the metric angle; water freezes at 0 and boils at 100.
