do you have mods? maybe romove the ones u using it made my Verifying Client Data form 10 mins to 1 to 2 mins
P.S. ur using wireless modem make a wire between it it wil be much better

I've done most of the tweaks listed earlier (thanks for those). Things seem to be running a bit faster, but now I'm getting connection problems I never had before. Here's my specs:

1GB RAM (looking to buy another gig soon)
Athlon XP 3000 CPU
ATI x700 Pro 256MB AGP
Plenty of hard drive space
Very few extraneous programs running

Verifying client data still seems to take too long, and I'm getting the connection issues. Any ideas?

I have searched...this looks like the best thread thus far.

I would update your Punkbuster...it's supposed to update itself but sometimes it doesn't.

I eliminated the "prioritize bf2" tip...seemed to clear up my connection/5 sec hang problems in game. Everything else seems to run smoothly and just a bit quicker.
