Hi ppl.

Just wanted a little help. ok...
I was wondering if I could create some sort of mini buddy tracker or stats site. The thing is im kinda confused how to start and where to start. Does EA have some sort of database conn ip, username and pass? or is it more then that ? such as mentioned here....  http://www.newsbackup.com/about700573.html

Hope some one can help.


PS - yes I do have the nessesadsry skills to code the thing (PHP/MYSQL, C#, ASP/ASP.NET etc etc)

just make a unique login...there's no password, just make sure your name is unique...also there's no registration, just put in a name and go...

Thanks for the reply. I have seen this one before:) thx for posting it though. I'm not looking for already implemented ones, I want to create one my self (get some experience, + i'm dying to knw how to do it)

Buddy trackers are tough because there is no central repository of where people are playing. You have to scan the entire server list one by one to get a list of all the players just to find the one you're looking for.

To that end, Game-Monitor.com already does this. If you're willing to part with a couple of dollars a month, you can let them do the heavy lifting and then just use the XML interface they provide to reskin and repupose it to your needs.

Otherwise you're in for a deal of work and I suggest you search for the "Battlefield 2 Technical Wiki"

Hi chuyskywalker. Thx a million for the info. I have looked at game-monitor in the past (thx for posting it though) and have decided not to use them. but WOW man I found Wiki BF2 and its awesome all the info I need is there! man I can't thank you enough, again Thanks!
