I'm serious. It doesn't look like an awful movie if you can get past the rudeness of it being a really fast remake. Still looks like another rental like the last one, though.
You know the author is dead?
The original was far better in the cinema, TV is just so flat.
Winter's Bone 8:10
Subtle and made me think about the deeper aspects. Well made and kept my attention.

Awesome movie if you're into time travel, alternating pasts and futures, etc. (Think "Back to the Future," but through your mind instead of a DeLorean. Sound crazy, but it works.)
Anyway did you see the directors cut or theatrical release? imo the theatrical release had a better ending.
Spoiler (highlight to read):
Theatrical the final flash back he goes to his 8th(?) birthday party and tells Kayleigh he hates her so she goes lives with her mother instead of staying with her father to be close to Evan.
Directors cut he strangles himself in the womb with his umbilical cord. There's also a few added scenes which really don't add much
The Inbetweeners - 5
A bit meh, very predictable and not very original yet still has some laughable moments. About the only consistent thing was the cringe worthy decisions the protagonists make at every turn.

Speaking of remakes...
Who thought it was a good idea to remake the french Taxi movies in american?

Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
The Change-Up:
8/10 - I enjoyed it more than I expected. I laughed a lot. It did its job. Not a big fan of Bateman or Reynolds, but really liked both of them in this movie.
Super 8:
6/10 - Meh. Most of the kids deserve long careers in Hollywood... They did a good job acting and were likeable.
Spoiler (highlight to read):
The story though never really had too much of a point. It was like a horror movie monster without any of the horror movie. A little like a poor mistreated Frankenstein's monster that is bullet proof and the size of a house meets E.T. wanting to go home but being hindered by the military. Except unlike either of those, you never really feel anything for/care about the monster.
500 Days of Summer:
7/10 - Had my Zooey in it. Was a nice twist on a romantic movie. Was pretty darn true, and I know a ton of people that have went through the same type of scenario. Was entertaining. Nothing awesome.
Elf:
6/10 - Kids enjoyed it. Also had my Zooey in it. She actually can pull off Blonde very nicely. I was bored a lot though.
Your Highness:
4/10 - Even Zooey couldn't save it. Ugh.
Yes Man:
8/10 - Enjoyed it a lot. Oh look, Zooey is in this one too...
Winnie-The-Pooh (whatever the brand new to DVD one is):
8/10 - Whole family really enjoyed it. My wife rented it all on her own to get a break from Zooey. Then the song at the end comes on and guess who sings it? LOL I laughed, and got smacked... Hey, I didn't pick it out.
Horrible Bosses:
7/10 - Not bad. Laughed and was entertained... It just never really took off like it could have.

Brought back a couple of memories from Montreal, but there were a few too many shots of Zak Braff all alone looking emo.

The initial version I saw was the extended director's cut version, and I have to admit that while it makes the most sense story-wise, I was disappointed by it. I saw the theatrical release (along with several variations of it) on YouTube, and I liked it much better, but only because I enjoy seeing protagonists live/win/continue on in the end. Interestingly, the directors used the extended ending for the initial viewing of the movie and the pilot audience was so displeased with it that the directors went back and made what is now the the theatrical ending.DrunkFace wrote:

There was a little comedy here and there (namely his college roommate who I found quirky, and him as a frat boy I found pretty funny), but nothing along the lines of the BTTF series. Too much comedy would of ruined it anyways - the movie was pretty serious.
Also, your latest karma was from me - I was going to answer you through karma but I decided to post instead, and accidentally hit enter while writing a response.
Love Actually: 7/10
Average, considering the cast involved. Not my first time through it. RT gives it 63%. I don't think that's perfectly fair, considering the target audience were people who wanted light watching. The entire film progresses like a perfectly predictable flowchart and randomly ties in a bunch of the plot lines together at the end with no warning, but no element of surprise.
Probably won't get most men into as hot of water for putting on as Predator 2.

Mildly-entertaining/10.
Never a laugh-out-loud moment but it was kind of okay I guess...

To me it was more of a occasional smirk movie, rather than a laugh-out-loud.Ty wrote:

Don't really see how those two are gay, unless you're talking about the bromance between the rockstar and his manager in Love Actually.
Facepalm yourself. In and Out is "gay." Love Actually is an average movie.
