Hi all I'm new to the forums + BF2,
I am about to get my second promotion and I don't know what Special ops unlock to get (I wanted special ops because they are the only kit I use)
Which one is the best gun: G36C or SCAR-L
However I have heard that the SCAR-L can only be unlocked in BF2 special forces, is this true?

u have to unlock the scar-l first to get the G36C. Thats how i got mine i think!

1) As previously stated, you need the G36C before the SCAR-L

2) You also need Special Forces to get the SCAR-L

Really, don't worry about the SCAR-L, the G36C is better anyway.

You can only unlock the SCAR if you have special forces, but if you do you can then use the SCAR in Vanilla BF2. On balance though I think that the G36 is the better weapon, supreme accuracy and realtively good power, and many would agree that it is amongst one of the best guns in the game. The only thing that the SCAR egdes it on is power, or if you prefer the red dot sight over the iron sights of the G36.
In summary I would go for the G36.

Scar-l is a special forces unlock, and i would recommend the G36C as it is really accurate and does reasonable damage however it has iron sights unlike the Scar-l which has laser.

Ive just unlocked the Scar L and its an awesome weapon. Ive got numerous 4man takedowns with it in 1 clip. Although the G36C is undoubtably a great gun, the Scar L is doing me great at the moment, and will take me the whole way for the remaining 7 hours i need for vet spec ops badge.

first i played with the g36, then the scar-l, after about 50-60 hours with it (i carry c4 alot as spec ops), i changed back to g36, and its THE best gun overall, i took down a 5 man squad after damaging them with a grenade, with the scar-l i always lost of g36 cause of accy....

anyway, the g36 and g36 are the best asault weapons ;-) (not realy but thier very good)

For closer quarters the Scar-L is better, more punch. For longer range the G36C seems to be more accurate.
