I don't know what's worse... The fact someone made that virus or the article making it common knowledge where to obtain it...

...

Srsly, have Tom Cruise destroy that shit asap!

i think you have to be naive to think this sort of research doesn't occur all the time.  Just so happens this guy decides to speak to the media about it.  I'm sure Alex Jones has already folded it into his sermons.

The superpowers and other unheard of factions have way scarier stuff locked away no doubt, but making something that could kill billions of people if it got out, even by accident, and then telling public media exactly where to find it... How can that seem like a good idea to anyone?

i can tell you where to find nukes and a lot more biological weapons, and give you the address to Obama's hideaway.  Doesn't mean you can do anything with it.  Go by Fort Detrick, then swing by 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.  Good luck, tell me how it turns out!

I read some of the comments on the article, holy shit I want to punch most of those idiots.

Anyone who is seriously afraid of this needs to stay off the internet forever.

this

i'm sure there are plenty of extremely deadly viruses locked away in cryo storage

but honestly, the terrorists we deal with nowadays don't really have the capabilities of doing something like this. their tactics mostly include "make bomb, send guy with bomb into crowded market, watch as guy presses trigger thinking he'll get 72 virgins, enjoy big boom".

the 9/11 plot was original and inventive for them, but it was still a very basic way of doing things. these facilities are heavily locked down

and as with almost every virus this world has ever seen, there will still be some people immune to it, SO WE SHALL LIVE ON

They managed to infilitrate our tech uni just fine, no bomb used.
I think they more or less stole plans for a nuclear bomb.

the difficult thing about making a nuke isn't the know-how, it's the technological/resource limitations in the process of refining weapon-grade uranium/plutonium. details, details...

This.

I remember reading a news story about a high schooler who built a working small nuclear device. He just needed the uranium but otherwise he had it down on the practical level. There's is also the story of the truck driver who recreated and published the specifactions for a Fat Man. He doesn't have access to the uranium/plutonium to set it off though.

We built the thing with 40's technology. It's not like the brightest minds in a medium sized industrialized country can't build one 70 years later.
