Hi,

I currently run BF3 on ultra, everything maxed out in bf3 and nvidia cp.

However I am looking to upgrade my monitor which is a 1440x900 benq, to a Dell 30".

I am wondering what settings I can run with my spec, and also what settings i could run with another card in sli?

2500k @ 4.8ghz
Asrock extreme4
580gtx twin frozr 1.5gb
win 7 ult 64
2x4gb ram DDR3
corsair 850w
carbide 400r

my case, mboard and psu are all sli ready. so thats not an issue.

Thanks!

Also, don't bother SLI-ing two GTX 580's unless you're a glutton for spending money. It's pointless.

or were you just trying to brag your specs?

If you want ultra at that res AND 60fps you'll need another 580.

There may be some occasions where you might notice slowdown a bit, but you'll be disappointed in your overall return in gaming if you plug in a second GTX 580. Two will certainly secure your frame rate well beyond 60, but better off to stick to one GTX580 now and upgrade to NV's next card in 2012.

I doubt you'll be trying the game at above 1080P, which is when you'd definitely need a SLI setup.

I have a 30" and only with my new system:
Intel i7 2600 3.9ghz
8GB ddr3
hd 6990 4gb
i'm able to run all the games smoothly.
It costs to run a game at 2560x1600 smoothly at high settings.

Yeah, you have pretty much my card in SLI.

I didnt buy the monitor, guy was getting rid as warranty had ran out. Ordered a 27" Asus today 1920x1080, not so great but hopefully will be much better than a 19" 1440x900.

Kind of a dumb question, but if I swap out my AMD HD 4850 for an HD 6XXX card, will I need to uninstall the drivers and reinstall?

Seems like it shouldn't matter, as both cards run off the same drivers.

email ur reply back asap
