Hey all,
I come back from a job in Chile and played a little bit with my system at home.
Install a new NAS at home, re organize my computer place etc.
Then I start up my PCs again and re join BF2 for a couple of rounds.
When I was on Wake, I found out that I have yellow, flickering strips in the sky.
Try to make a screen shot but doesn't work.

Have someone the same like I have?
I got a break for around four month, but I don't remember that the sky was yellow flickering before.

I try to change some settings but doesn't hit the right one.

Maybe my graphic cards are damaged and its time for a new PC.

Somebody know if it can be fixed with a setting change?

Anyway, if I can fix it will be nice. If not, time for a new PC.

Thanks anyway guys and see you on the battlefield.

Be sure you have the latest WHQL drivers for your particular graphics card and aren't overclocking it.

What's your specs?

Sounds like the graphics card is overheating. Open up your drivers control panel and check if it's overheating.

Hey guys.

unnamednewbie13: I use a TWeaKFoRCe driver for the graphic cards: Xtreme-G 190.62m.
I am not really a gamer, not many time for it because of the job.
But what you wanna do in cold, frozen Germany at the winter time.
BF2 helps me to get the time between two jobs done.

Finray:  The cards are not overclocked, for what? I play only sometimes BF2 or the old Crysis.
            Here are my specs -

If it's a laptop, chances are you have to use modified drivers anyway. I'd still give a different version a shot.

Sometimes they just get worn out, but I would check temps. If it's sitting flat on the desk, prop it up on a notebook cooler. The fan doesn't even have to be running; the airspace helps. I run a Sony Vaio on an aluminum one from Office Depot that still spins after all these years and keeps things bitingly cold (for a Vaio).

If you're not really a gamer, there isn't much of a purpose in upgrading to a new PC unless this one's beyond repair. Maybe wait for Windows 8 (if it's any good)?

OK, i lift my system up to get a better airflow. But doesn't help. I got the flickering also when i start the system.
And i think it will be not hot in the beginning. So maybe a new driver. But what is the latest driver?
My version is 190.62m and i got the driver from XTreme-G. They have a driver for the nvidia m version cards.
What kind of version you guys using? What is the latest version? It is, i think, not like update a driver. nVidia didn't
have a bottom like " check for updates ".

For Windows8 i must say i don't think i will go for it, buyed Windows7 but never install it. Don't like the version.
Saw it on different systems and must say it looks nice, but all the time Windows ask for this and that etc.
Not really a friend of it.

Checked by XTreme-G but they have still my driver and no other version.

Then the hardware may already be damaged, for whatever reason. If you can hook it up to an external monitor, give it a try. If that doesn't flicker, it could be your laptop screen (or its connection to the computer itself). If it does, the card's probably done. There's more things it could be, but those are the basics.

Depending on the warranty you have, the MFG may still cover it. If you want to grab a new laptop now, the ASUS later in gurdeep's thread is nice (and will run BF3 like a dream), but you can find cheaper than USD$1000 if all you want to play is BF2.

Finray's right about Windows 7. Many of the annoying features can be disabled. And when I said Windows 8, I meant that if you wait until it's out, laptops will be shipped with it.

179.48 is just the latest the site recommends for the 7xxx GO cards. Newer may put undue stress on the poor thing.
