If you are selling something useful to the home user, it will be, otherwise they don't care enough to do it, which means it is a product nobody wants.

Chances are "a million to one" that you have not come up with something ground breaking. If you have, congratulations, but I really doubt it.

Then you must intend to sell if for so little that it is not worth cracking. If it is worthwhile and costs something then it will be cracked. The only ways it wouldn't be is if there is so little interest that no one will bother to crack it, or if you sell massive quantities for a very small amount.
not really...  look at the guys who make and sell hacks for FPS.  EA, AA, fpscheats, 187ci, etc.  the programmers who make those cheats are at about the same level as me, and i know that because i know all of the developers who make them.  does their shit ever get cracked?  nope.  they're all reverse engineers and they know how to protect their programs

Is your software going to be producing random numbers? If so then you're right, it can't be cracked.
Who is going to be paying you for random number sequences?

If its not generating random numbers then it can be reverse engineered by anyone who can be bothered.

there's no such thing as truly random in programming.  'randomness' is based on an algorithm

uh, thats not the point.  go find out what algorithm they use so you can predict the next winning numbers and cards.  thats what dilbert is saying is possible

Is there randomness in your algorithm?
If its doing something more useful than generating random numbers the randomness can still be screened out.

But anybody who is going to spend monies on a hack, probably is not to savy with code, so how are they going to crack it. Also it's not like there is really a huge market for hacks, sure there is money in it, but making hacks for a very small portion of the smallest part of the gaming market isn't exactly fortune 500 material.

also, hacker bro-ho itt.

Then it is not worth cracking. It holds no value to anyone but you, so why even bother with protecting it?

To be honest your "un-crackable" software holds more value than pretty much any software out there... if it were as simple as you think, the people who stand to lose millions in sales would be willing to pay a fuck ton for it, or they would already be using it.
