32 bit will be able to address 4GB of memory in total - that includes any system memory, like cache and graphics card memory, so in reality it's more like 3.5GB. I'd suggest to "extend the life" of the laptop would be to max it out to 4GB, wipe Vista, install Windows 7 64 Bit, clean out the fans (and I mean dismantling it and getting rid of every bit of fluff). You could, if you wanted to, reseat the CPU cooler with some new thermal paste, but that's a bit of a stretch. Worth it though.

EDIT- Thanks for the advice, Finray. I have 4GB right now, and I think I can 'acquire' a copy of Windows 7 to hopefully boost performance a little. Cleaning out the fans and such would be a task, but if I get desperate I'll go for it.

I wont bore you with silly questions as Im sure you wanna go back to ya RAM discussions, 32 v 64 (bit unfair if you ask me but what do I know) but is it called Connecticut because the town / city was built on an axis of two major highways wether that be road or rail.

I have a thing about google or wiki. Id rather ask someone in the know and read their thoughts on it.

I wish that guy in your link would say it a bit slower, its like his life depends on it. He's done his job half way through the time bar thing. 0.5 seconds I think

I think they used the same shitty aluminum on the new XPSs as they did with mine. Not as a nice as a mac, no, but it's the best looking thing with windows on it. Don't say Lenovo.
