when I go to login and play I get to this screen that says its connecting to account server. I end up waiting 7 minutes and nothing.

When you say nothing, what exactly happens? Do you get kicked in desktop, kicked to main menu?
Can you be more specific with your problem. Also try using search there are plenty of threads I personally covered on this subject, not to mention other threads by other people.

Probably need some more information from you, but it could be any number of things ... here's a list of the three most common problems for those who "suddenly" see such behavior (that is, nothing on their computer has changed).joey_915 wrote:

(1) The particular EA account server that you are attempting to connect to is down or having problems. Your only solution is to wait it out.
(2) A connection to the server is temporarily slow or very noisy. This might be your connection to the ISP or your ISP's connection to the broader internet. Your only solution is to wait it out.
(3) Though rare, sometimes people pick up spyware that blocks or clogs needed connections. If this is the case, clean up malware/spyware.
Edit: also, Boris' advice about searching threads is wise
