Yeah, UOP is pretty much a scam, like others have said.

The main problem is not in the education, it's in companies and other universities (that would ultimately hire you) not recognizing the degrees as anything substantial. A lot of graduates will get their degree from UOP, only to find out that they can't do a goddamn thing with it, ever. Just a huge waste of money for a phony degree from a shit school.

Edit: kind of contradicting myself. It is a problem in the education, the reason why the degrees aren't really recognized.

Do employers recognize UoP degrees? I know friends of friends who did their MBA program but I don't know if that translated to anything in their jobs.

But, who knows? Their MBA program could be very informative. Just because it doesn't translate to immediate job benefits doesn't mean it's a waste.

It's too bad. There are a lot of benefits to taking a class online. You get to do the work on your own time and can rewind and re-watch lectures as often as you need to. Some professors are a pain in the ass to get in contact with via email though which is why my school ended up requiring a weekly face to face chat

I can't remember exactly the reason why. I watched a documentary on UOP months ago and can't remember the exact details. The gist was that the degrees from UOP were completely worthless for one reason or another.

I agree with you about advanced degrees in general. You usually don't see any benefit immediately, but you should see some return eventually. This isn't the case with UOP though.

It does recognize their graduate degrees, though. I think it tries to steer people away from there, but since their graduate program is accredited...

undergrad program (didn't even realize they had one, tbh) must not be accredited.

What's the point of bothering with of degree from them if it's mostly worthless? An associates degree from a community college isn't exactly hard or very time consuming to attain, and it's actually worth something in the job world.
