I use to play a LOT of Wolfenstein enemy territory. Once of the cool classes was the Covert Ops class.
They had this kit:
Knife
Pistol
2 Variations of sniper rifle, or a Silenced Sten gun
Grenades
Binoculars
Pretty standard right? Well, they also had these abilities:
They could take the uniform of a completly dead soilder, allowing an american to run around in an enemy uniform, until they were figured out, or they opened fire on an enemy unit and someone saw you do it.
They could use their binoculars to 'spot' enemy mines. This would mark them as flags in the ground, so an engineer could remove them.
To me, this would be the perfect class to add to battlefield 2. But instead of having sniper rifles, just give them a silenced version of an assault rifle - like the M4 from Counterstrike.
Since you can swap kits anyway, how about removing the ability to switch to enemy kits, and only let this new class do it? And in addition, make their name always show up in blue, no matter what side looks at them. The
Then, if they see an enemy mine, they could use the binoculars to 'spot' the mine and have it show up as a different colour skull to usual.
It could work...
