I love my truck! 4wd for winter driving and off road in the summer. also need it for picking up parts for my body shop and hauling my mountain bike and camping gear. so for me it's a must. it's a midsize so it's not a massive gas hog. I save the gas guzzling for my 01 SVT Cobra Mustang Convertible.

With 3500, you'll be able to drive for three months. Insurance and gas will take up about 500 a month, and that leaves you with 2000 for a decent car (2k is in my experience about the minimum you can spend on a car and not have to spend much time fixing it).
