BF2S Forums bf2 install with ea downloader help.

I cant see anything wrong in your method of installation. You seem to have done it in the logical order. :S

well to be sure i installed all the patches from the beginning. and all is well. one of the patches has a ati fix, and i don't remember what one, or if it is in the 1.22 full. doesn't mater i guess it works.

did you try to install the 1.22? when you put in sf it has the 1.1 patch in it so i would reinstall it (the 1.22) and then try. i had to remove bf2, and start all over again to fix mine, but i used  all the patches also. are you getting spike lag?

Check for video settings, make sure they not set to high. also check that you don't have non of the spywere and or antipopups running in BG.

i think i have solved the problem, i reinstalled bf2 and installed all the patches from the beginning. it seem to fix the problem (no more spike lag). i don't think my settings are a factor, i run 1024 x 768, max everything, and AA set on x4. so i have always ran bf2 that way and no problems. i want to run it a 1280 x1024 but with the present settings i stay at a comfortable 80 to 90 fps ( depending on the server ), and at 1280 x 1024 i get 50 to 60 fps with max settings. so i guess when i get a x1900 xtx i can do that. i defrage once a week, the only pop up blocker i have is in avant browser, and i run ad aware  SE every three days or so. but now the 1.3 is out so we will see what happens ( lol).
