in addition to taking an unusually long time to load, when i try and click the "Multiplayer" tab of the browser, the game exits back to desktop, should i reinstall the patch from another source mabye?

only played for a couple hours since the patch, had no crashing issues but I have noticed the exceedingly long load and connect times, think this happened after the last patch, but after a while the times returned to normal.

yeah im getting the same thing...i was loading a game and saw that it was optimizing shaders, and i remembered that the last patch messed with my video settings so i changed them back (they were the same anyway), cleared the cache, and connected to a server. as soon as i was in-game, it went to desktop
i had the same problem, i just restarted my comp and it works phew. if this still does not work try getting the full patch. thats what i did with the other.
yeah i was just reading on somewhere else that the incremental patch is f'ed

mine worked for like 2 hours then...... i switched servers crash and my sf won't work somthing about lighting im dling the full now
same thing just happaned to me, i clicked multiplayer, i just sat there and waited. it eventually came... i have fast ram, soo all i can say is just wait!
Yeah - try the full patch .. I'm still on the Increm but I'm getting crashes and general weirdness
i tried restarting and that worked for now...
About the logn load times......It happened to me when I was playing earllier today......And I haven't even downloaded teh patch yet (capped and its taking FOREVER)
If it's desktop crash run BF2 in windows mode, let me know the error it will give you.stryyker wrote:

I had a SF server crash 2x in less then 5 minutes tonight..

I know many of you having troubles with 1.30 patch, can you at least take the time to look at other threads, there are many people with same problems, please do not make new post if sum one has same problems as you and he has made the post already. Thank you
Ok here is what I found this might fixit for sum
First off Install full patch not "incremet" ( this should fix most of the problems )
Update Punkbuster After new patch ( full install ) update your PB, you can find out how to auto update PB in general chat section of this forums ( titled top 10 tweak guids )
To steps above should fix the problems also found this on other forums that might help
1. I found this sorted, my problems out, alternatively you just need to switch your PC to run with just 1 cpu (in window task manager, right click BF2.exe, select affinity- deselect one of the cpu's and away you go!)
2.If that dont work dude, try turning Hyperthreading off in your BIOS. Done the trick for me, I had the exact same problem.
I dont have Dual processors though but if the above post don't work give it a bash.
3.Video settings check make sure they set to low ( only for now just to see if it helps our problem )
4. After new patch update your PB, you can find out how to auto update PB in general chat section of this forums ( titled top 10 tweak guids )
