3rd book!
blu-rays arrived today!
It's fair enough to suspend belief, but seriously, Beric Dondarrion and Catelyn...Jay wrote:
Those both turn into really cool story lines. I mean it is a fantasy book, what do you expect? Compared to most fantasy series, the magic aspect is almost wholly supplemental rather than the focus. Again, it's fantasy, you're supposed to suspend disbelief and just go with itAussieReaper wrote:
I think its quickly reaching that point.Jay wrote:
Magic comes into the story more as it progresses. It hasn't neared absurdity yet though.
Magic has become the deus ex machina. Arya Spoiler (highlight to read):
escapes from the clutches of the Lanister army by having a wizard spontaneously appear out of nowhere. He was just one of the caged boys Yoren was taking to the wall in the first book. Yet suddenly through magic lets her kill three men of her choosing, the third being most of her captives so she can make for her escape not long after. The Wizard departs just as quickly as soon as her problem is solved. Too conveiniant.
Bran the cripple can now use his "third eye" and run and jump as a wolf. All the problems of being a cripple instantly removed. And Jon is likely to get similar powers judging by the start of Clash of Swords where he scouts as Ghost.
Hate to think what Daenarys and Melisandre will be doing as their story progress.
Davos Motherfucking Seaworth
I pictured him darker and not as grandpa old
might buy the latest book soon. it's got reasonably cheap on Kindle.
But then I'll have to wait about 5000000 years for the next. what do?

You know that downloading ebooks illegally can be as easy as downloading music illegally.

Me too. I figured he was far younger. Maybe mid 20's.Adams_BJ wrote:

It's always interesting to see how the author envisions a character as compared to how his readers envision them.
I'd have to go back and re-read the first chapter of the second book, but didn't Martin say that he had like darker (like olivish) skin? And I always pictured him as maybe mid/late 40s. Taking into account his kids ofcourse. He seems closer to 60 there haha
I pictured him more like
but still think this is pretty badass
but still think this is pretty badass
I Hope He Loses His Fingers
hes exactly what i pictured
He looks like a (reformed) pirate sea captain to me!
