They changed the sound files so everyone's flocking to it and thinking it's so much different than the 1.22 SMGs.

smgs have rocked since 1.22. maybe they made them even better with 1.3 or maybe a bunch of us just discovered the 1.22 changes right now.
is there any actual change? cause there wasn't anything on the patch notes about weapon tweaks.
I can tell that the rate of fire has been increased. It shoots alot faster now, especally compared to when it first came out. I also love the new sound. I dont think the damage has changed, it just seems like it because you can shoot so many more bullets now.
Only 1 down side. In full auto the kick is really bad if you take more than 5 shots, especally while moving. It took me about 30 shots to kill an engineer about 50 feet away while we were both running, no scope. But in the alley of Karkand, it ownes, MG36 does too though.

At close ranges it is incredible now because it sprays in a decent radius. I used to use it for medium range though, and since its ROF is increased so much, it is no longer very good at medium range. But, it's an SMG, I'll take the short range boost at the cost of a small decrease in medium range effectiveness.

all i know is that the MP7 has somehow gotten amazing beyond all recognition

Yip, the sound file of the P90 has been adjusted to it's RoF of 900. This is the only change and it doesn't shot faster, it only sounds faster. Meanwhile i read the Weaponconfigs of the PKM, MG36, P90 & MP7 and can say that there aren't any changes. In the 1.3 changelog EA/DICE didn't state that they change Weaponconfigs, so please people - stop finding "changes", there are non.Ajax_the_Great1 wrote:

the reason being they changed the sound was because when they first introduced the p90 is was 600rpm whic hwas crap compared to other smgs. then they changed it to 900 rpm, but forgot to update the sound file. now the sound is updated.

I dunno about the placebo effect only m8, yes the sound file changed, the damage is the same, but the deviation per rnd seems oddly closer to the Famas. And while I've used the P-90 pre-1.3 it does feel a bit more anti-group friendly than it used to be.
Go to your BF2 Directory -> Mods -> Look into the ObjectClients.zip (or called something similar, just cannot look due to be at work) -> Weapons -> Search for the P90 -> Inside you find one large file, it's called something like Weapon.tweak (11k Size) -> Open it in Wordpad -> Search for the Deviation Settings -> If you will just find one difference to Pre-1.3 i'll send you a cookie!DebonairXcel wrote:
