Well, I was bored yesterday and decided to write a thread about the Rights and mistakes of BattleField 2. Now these are just some of the things I think make BF2 great and make you hate it.
What they got right.
1. Covering war. I mean where else can you fly a jet jump out right before you get shot down and jump into a tank. The fact you can do so much in one game.(Don't forget the commanding aspect too.)
2. New content. I think its a good thing that they come out with new stuff like Euro Force and Armored Fury. It keeps the game interesting without making a new game.(With the exception of Special Forces.)
3. Ranking System. I personally like the idea of out ranking someone else because of the time you put into the game. It takes away the aspect of straight out n00b commanders.
4. Realife Weapons. I think BF2 did pretty good job covering the weapons in the game. Being able to select Auto, burst, or single shot modes in most weapons.(Most of them.)
5. User control. You can get your own BF2 ranked server and setup the maps any way you want them. Change setting to what you want. Of course without breaking any
What they got wrong.
1. Claymores. Simply no matter what way you look at and no matter which way you have them setup in the game it will always be a problem. Whether it would be team killing or spamming. This is due to the fact there will always be more people on the ground then vehicles in the air/sea/ground.
2. Special Forces. So what do you think they were on when they made this add on? Were they thinking "Lets get every penny out of them we can." Not only is it harder on your matching, it requires you to start a total new .exe to play it.
3. Punkbuster. Do I really need to say more? I meaning banning people that were not cheating... Even EA regretted sign a contract with them.
4. Debugging. I don't think they even know what that word is. I don't think I even seen a missile fire right through a tank.
5. Set Spawn Points. We all know this as spawn camping/base raping, you know "all your base belong to us" type of thing. Its just inviting the mass killings.
Feel free to add things or flame the thread, just sharing my thoughts.
