I joined a karkand server (64 players) half way through a round and got dropped on USMC. We had suburbs, square, and hotel. There was a standoff between the train accident and the suburbs that lasted for the rest of the round. I went as Support because I need 10 more hours for my badge. I never play support as infantry. I started throwing ammo packs around, and realized that you can get points very very fast this way. I got about 35 resupplies and a bunch of kills (forget number). I finished first with 65 points. It's not a very high score, but if I had been there the whole round, I'd have easily topped 100 I'm sure. Also keep in mind I have never played support to any extent before. An experience support player must be able to rake in hundreds of points an hour on a packed server by using the LMG better (I had a KDR of just over 2, which is low for me). I repeated this for 3 rounds on another server and got between 25 and 35 resupplies each round, though this was on a 32 player size map with 64 people, so the rounds went faster. But faster rounds = more points per hour.
It's way too easy to gain points by spamming ammo. There are at least 8-10 snipers per side on a 32 player team, and each of them is a guaranteed point because they spam claymores.
EA is fixing everything else that is mildly objectionable, so why is Support still a point farm?
