are you giving him tips on how to get with his mom?

I have just been stacking first world problems today.
Here's how my day started:
Had to get up at 6am and it was raining outside, but it only appeared to be a mild drizzle (looks can be deceiving)
I arrived at the train station completely soaked. Fuck slighty damp trousers, i was soaked to my socks and undies.
Naturally, when i was out of Amsterdam it stopped raining over there. The wind had other plans.
I always have my window open a tiny bit. I also have a water bottle on my desk at all times (it was about half full). Normally a bottle this full wouldnt fall over from a bit of wind. Well, not in this storm. I arrived only to find out that my shaker cup had fallen on my desk and the cap is now cracked and my water bottle fell over. The damage? A ton of paper uni handouts that the faculty won't replace (i managed to get them dry enough to read) , 2 thumb drives (both still work, thank fuck), a ticket to a party (I can print out a new one though, still a hassle) and above all else: My 17" macbook pro.
Apple products are great and all as long as you can keep them free of any damage (too bad water is apple's arch nemesis). I fucking hate their repair service sham. It would cost me 800euros for a 2-year-old macbook. For that cash i could almost buy a newer, but smaller, model (of course this was their advice too).

I also found out that my monthly student financing (govt hand-out as jay would call it) doesn't quite cover my monthly expenses. I have been living far too luxurious and because i'm more or less inbetween cities and still quite busy starting up uni I can't get a job yet.
You need to pull yourself up from the bootstraps. Just like jay did. He never took a handout.
student
living luxuriously
doesn't have a trust fund
this isn't going to end well for you.

How do you react better to venting? I just kind of yeah and mhmm'ed my way through it until she finally stoppedIlocano wrote:

And girls sometimes do talk to me about a lot of stuff, I have a more logical and impersonal view of things that most people don't really have that a lot of them respect when asking me for advice

I lost the case to my copy of London Calling
oh snap

i said NOOOO PIIIIIICCCKKKKLLLLEEESSSS!!!!!
Stiff neck, tired and at work on a Saturday. At least the money is pretty good (+0.75%) and it's pretty chill here.
Don't worry about me. Living luxuriously would be an overstatement, i'm just spending a tiny bit more than my student financing can sustain, but i'll have it sorted by the end of this month. I also saved up plenty of dough from the last couple of years, but i just hate seeing it decline (no matter how little) each month rather than rise.aynrandroolz wrote:

And who says i dont have a trust fund?
i say you don't have a trust fund.

The DC government is letting 42 bars and restaurants stay open all night on Sunday into Columbus Day, and serve booze until 4AM

I have class on Monday because my school is gay about holidays so I can't really enjoy it

I'm not 21 till April so I can't enjoy it
21 drinking age, lol USA
I wish they would lower it but our country has proven it's too stupid to be able to handle it obviously either. Either that or the Libtard soccer moms at M.A.D.D. wouldn't take no for an answer to have the highest drinking age in the world along with 3 other countries nobody cares about. Unfortunately it's making everything else 21+ now too like many delivery jobs. Some porn sites now even say fuck off if you're under 21.
It had always been 21 in almost every state ever since prohibition ended and then many states changed it to 18 or 19 in the 70s. Then the Baby Boomers apparently fucked that all up and the Federal Government strong-armed all the states throughout the early 80s by withholding 10% of their highway maintenance fund if they didn't change the drinking age to 21

It's bollocks. You can go and die for your country at 18 but you can't have a beer because that's wrong.
Nobody's gonna change it even though things are different 20 years later. Now underage drinkers are in the habit of binge-drinking in unsupervised places, it's scaring the shit out of many many University presidents, they've even been trying to get the drinking age changed:

Somebody in the comments of the article argues that nobody has more exposure to the issue nor sees the damage the high drinking age has done as well as people like College/University presidents who regularly deal with the exact 18-20 year old demographic that feels so fucked by the laws
