Are all AR15s noisy as fuck? I went shooting with my friends a few years ago and we were next to a guy who had one with a long barrel and it was just ridiculously loud, nobody could even concentrate or fire until he was done. We had an AK, a Lee Enfield, and a pump-action shotgun and the shotgun was the only thing that came close to how noisy he was

Out of short barrels, they get loud. Muzzle breaks make them painful to stand next to.
anytime you've got a short barrel it's loud. .22lr out of a rifle isn't much louder than a magnum air rifle. .22lr out of my 2.5" revolver is unbearable. rings my ears just as bad as a 9mm.
