Slept over at a girls house, she left for work and I slept in. Her housemates got up and were talking in the kitchen having breakfast so I avoided having a shower in fear they may think I'm rude. I am now at work without a shower and unbrushed teeth. I shall have to go home on my lunch break.

Scammers have gotten creative. Wifey got a call today from some guy calling himself Hector saying that he had kidnapped me, broken my legs, and would only release me if she paid $1,000. Of course, my phone was on silent and I was at lunch so she nearly had a heart attack when I didn't respond. She called the police and they've apparently been making a lot of these phone calls in my town. Nigerian scammers taking it to the next level!

My wife got a few one of those text messages that were "accidentally" sent to the wrong number.
In this case, birthday wishes from some foreign mobile number, followed by call.

Apparently, they want you text back or call back, then redirect you to one or multiple premium rate numbers.

They've been doing that in Taiwan for the past 6 years. Someone called my grandma saying that they kidnapped her son (my uncle who's 40) and it had the voice of a 7 year old kid. she was very very confused and just hung up lol.

Now scammers in Taiwan just tell people "hey you ordered this product and it cost x amount of money call back to confirm" people confirm and send a "processing fee" for deposit. Or people say stupid shit like they're from the tax office and you had unpaid taxes.
