What does everyone think of this:
To stop all complaining (besides for bugs) make Squad hopping, bunny hopping/dolphin diving, capping flags from vehicles, chopper/jet health, AA effectiveness, and all other changes that DICE has made in their patches server side options. This way admins can choose if they want stronger helis, dolphin diving, and all the rest in their servers. Realism fans can play on the '1.3 settings' servers and players wanting a more arcade-like game can play on '1.02 settings'. Of course, all 'patch settings' would have the latest bug fixes (not additions!) who likes this idea? If not, whats wrong with it?

The first problem that comes to mind is with the ranking system...how can you have ranked servers if there isn't a level playing field?

I think it's a nice idea.
But I would imagine having all those different settings changing such things in the server drastically would cause a lot of overhead(meaning lots of lag)

i'll agree. i'm not going to lie...i really miss c4 throwing and BH whoring. also, with the way i fly now after the tweaked AA, i really think flying in a pre1.2 environment would be awesome.

Our stats would be really inaccurate....imagine situations like the following: "Oh you may have more kills in a helo but I'm really better since I play with the nerfed helos/god-like AA turrets..."
People like me would snipe with the PKM again ...J/K but that would create some "OMGZ STAT PADDING HOW IS HIS KDR SO GOOD1!11!" controversy as well.

I´d like this idea. All the whiners made this game so shitty at all... OK, I could adapt to the current gameplay, but the former gameplay was more fun to me (and many others, I think)...

best idea i have heard yet, then everyone would be happy, but i cant see EA making this work sadly there to busy filling 2142 with bugs so we can beta test it for them later this year.

How is that different when someone has 25,000 heli kills pre patch? "oh im better because you got them before the patch" ?

well, difficult one... maybe let it be a playermode... like conquest we have now singleplayer (co-op) and maybe Original (pre-patched, just like bf2 was before all the patches)

Why should everyone else have to suffer just because you like regulated? People should be able to play thier favourite patch and have it ranked. Whatever patch it is.

Do any of you really care about how somone got thier points? If it is cheating it is diferent, as its effecting normal players.

If you decide to join a 1.03 server you know what your gonna get, if you hate dolphin divers and can't shoot at people who are jumping. Just dont join.

Each to his own...

But of course, even if the whole community wanted this EA still wouldn't listen or care...
