After I downloaded the new patch my BF2 won't start at all. I boot it up, I get a black screen, and the Game freezes. Worked beautifully before patch. I tried restarting and everything. Anyone else going through the same thing?

try the full patch sounds like its helping people resolve issues.

full patch is the 438mb one right? B/c that's the one I installed.

I'd try a reinstall then, last resort.

Some people have said re-applying the patch has helped as well.

kk, i'll try that... again

i want to reinstall BF2 at last last last resort

edit: btw, something really weird happens with the patch, when i double click it, it doesn't pull up the install screen for like 4 minutes. Which is really strange.

Intel 2.4ghz Pentium 4

3 gbs RAM (2 dual gigs, 2 512's)

ATI Radeon X850XT AGP 4x/8x

140gbs of combined hard drive space

XP home edition

-- should be running fine, eh?

Nah, it says "The Server Has Refused The Connection."

Junk. This stinks. Lol.

ahhh, maybe it was because i didn't DL it from EA, I notice their file size is 10mb larger for some reason. maybe it's some data I need.

edit: Ugh. I wish EA had faster upload speeds.

Sad thing is we as a a customer of EA SHOULD NOT have to re install or use the full patch. The patch should be tested so this shit doesn't happen every time a god damn patch comes out.

Problems connecting to account server are most often caused by firewalls or closed ports. Start there.

but the game used to work, wouldn't the problems of arose then?

edit: Also, when I start up the game, it takes about 1 minute to load up the startup screen. (it never did that before)
