You kind of ran out of steam there at 7 onwards Viper. Those are your own points, but they really just sound like exactly what you are accusing of 7DAYZ of. How would we 'all be fucked' if EA hadn't bought Dice? The point that was being made was that other companies such as Valve have delivered much better support to their customers for their games, as one example. There are always patches coming through Steam, and they always fix stuff, without introducing new bugs. I ask you for one thing before saying anything else - give me ONE example of a game that has got such serious bugs in it since it's release, with the customer base that BF2 has?

I'm not going to bother quoting Viper, you can all read his post. However, I think everyone can see his is the type of post I was trying to avoid by getting people to weigh in on 1.3 AFTER they'd thought about it. Props to oberst_enzian for being reasonable and bring it back to the point I was making.

I really don't understand how we'd be so screwed if EA hadn't bought Dice. Dice wasn't in big enough trouble to need bailing out, it was simply strategic for future profits on the part of EA. If EA hadn't gobbled them up, someone who is more in touch with their customers and seems to care about new and unique games (like Valve or THQ) might have bought them and allowed the DICE team the time they needed to really corret a lot of the issues we've all suffered over the PAST YEAR!

Yes, its been a year. And we still don't have a stable game which doesn't drop from servers and that provides a balanced fun experience for everyone. Thats something EA should be ashamed of, and definitely something they could do something about. Maybe give us all Armored Fury for free? Its not like its that much new content...they wouldn't lose much profit, and they'd gain alot of positive PR by making it their peace offering. I somehow doubt that EA is that far thinking though.

So true. And I got to play more tonight and I think you're right. The gameplay seems less intense now that you can't keep squads in the same place as easily. Sure it was a "bug" but now its really annoying not being able to join a squad UNTIL you spawn. Shouldn't have to do that with your first spawn, thats just bad play testing on EA's part.
