Finally got the flash. After I went to the store to get my money back and drove to the other store to buy it. For less monies. Now to figure out some settings for the damn thing. Never have I used one before..
Been trying to get a good shot of one of the mountains from my deck all morning... Noticed the mist going behind and in front of a outcrop to frame it, when I first woke up. One I've been waiting for a week or so for. Of course, by the time I set up the shots gone...

there is noise, you can see it on the left of the guitar. what tripped me out was my wife's camera would not have locked, that this camera gathers light like crazy . . .
I think I need to go filtershopping. What kinda filters should I get?
I've been having a lot of fun with the fader filter I just got, I want a ND400 filter to stack with it, also a polarizer filter.

Got to play with the Opteka 6.5mm f/3.5 Manual Focus Aspherical Circular Fisheye Lens for a little bit today. pretty good lens, just would take some getting used to. Made me start considering the Rokinon 8mm f/3.5 again.

Anyone been shootings concerts before? Might be going to a gig friday next week and I need some good recommendations on settings. Think I'm going with the 50mm 1.4 Sigma on my 7D.

you asked for settings for concerts.. looked at my lightroom and music photos are all over the place ranging from iso 640-1600, f/1.8-5.6.. and 1/60-1/100th of a sec, heh
if it's super dark start with a higher ISO, wide open aperture and 1/60 sec Good luck ultra !!

Gonna try and get some pics with the 50mm from the front. Gonna be a relatively tough since there is no photopit. Good thing I'm taller than your average hippity hoppity gangstarr. There's also a set of stairs on one side of the room. Gonna try with the 70-200mm from there.

I think it would look great with the focus on the mountain range + sky with a little bit of dock (if you have enough pixels to work with).

I've yet to try any presets. Just getting used to Lightroom and organizing/tagging all my photos. I'm going through about the past 10 year of photos and finding that very few are actually worth keeping

I just picked them up from that site burnzz recommended. pretty good, I like them.
